Kids @ Work '09

I went to mommy's office for the annual Kids @ Work. As usual, I enjoyed it although it was only a short 2.5 hr program. I did get a lot of toys from the giveaways and the games I joined. I also got to meet some of mommy's officemates' kids. It was also fun dancing to Nobody But You with Grimace. Hope next year's K@W will also be a blast.

First Field Trip

Mommy skipped work on the 20th to accompany me to my first ever field trip. We arrived quite late so we had to go on the last bus. But we still waited for almost an hour before leaving the school. I entertained myself by clicking away with the camera.

Our first stop was the Aero Space Museum in Villamor Airbase. I had a fun time looking at miniature planes. Also enjoyed riding in an old car and aboarding an old presidential plane.

We went next to Museong Pambata. Sadly, we went alone inside without our parents. I still did enjoy going to the kid-sized cathedral plus the fireman's truck, sari-sari store, barbershop and nipa hut.

We ate our lunch next on the bus. Mommy packed fried chicken and pancit but I only got to eat the former as I was full.

We proceeded to Arc Avilon next where I saw a lot of animals like cougar, lion, cheetah, siberian and white tiger, eagle, snakes, crocs, donkey, etc. The rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters also clamored towards me when I brought in the carrots to feed them.

Fun Ranch was our last stop where I got to ride on the bumper boat, mini-ferris wheel and train.

It was really fun and memorable. Especially since I have mommy to share it with. ;-)

Cebu-Bohol Trip

My out-of-Manila trip for the year finally pushed through with my family, including my Tita, Tito and cousins. We arrived late in the afternoon at the resort. Ate Mai, Ate Rein and I headed to the pool afterwards. Too bad mommy can't join us so she just took our pictures.

We were up early the next day for our day trip in Bohol. We first went to the Blood Compact Site, then to Baclayon Church. Lunch was eaten aboard the floating restaurant while cruising through the Loboc River. We also visited the tarsiers. They look really cute and cuddly but sleepy. I get to touch their fur and tail for a split second, hehe. Last stop was the Chocolate Hills. They were actually green this time of the year but still looked spectacular.

We spent the next day at Panglao beach before leaving for Cebu. In Cebu, we met with Mommy Herma's cousin, Tita Mae, who toured us in Lapu-Lapu Shrine. We also get to taste the famous Lechon Cebu for lunch.

Then it's back to Manila for us. It was a full-packed and fun trip. Spending it with my relatives, particularly Ate Rein made it extra-special. =)

Birthday Girl

It’s mommy’s birthday today and what best to do than to spend the whole day with me. She took a leave from office and drop off/fetch me from school. After that, we had lunch at Jollibee and she made sure I go to sleep so I would have enough energy for our afternoon plans.

When I woke up, we prepared for our trip to the zoo. I saw a lot of animals there like the parrot, lion, panther, cougar, monkey, owl, eagle, donkey, reindeer, snake and fish. I even saw a huge dog there which looked like Patrash (as Tita Jhoy said).

We had dinner at Mom and Tina’s after and I enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake that mommy ordered for me. I’m so glad mommy spent her special day with me.

Birthday Report

I waited for mommy the eve of my birthday even if she went home really late. She did make it up to me coz I was smiling ear to ear when I finally got my birthday present, Bumblebee. I of course let her transformed it from car to robot to car to robot to… Tita Jhoy-jhoy also called me when 12 am arrived.

I woke up excited that morning since we were going to Manila Ocean Park. I played with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee while we get ready to go. It was so hot that day. Good thing lolo just had our car aircon repaired and I didn’t realize I fell asleep en route. I woke up when they carried me since it was time to go to the oceanarium. It was wonderful there. I saw lots of fishes, especially huge sharks and sting rays. Mommy even got a video of some of them.

We were hungry after so we decided to eat at Jollibee. Of course I was happy not just because of the food but also because I got to play on the play area. We went home after but the celebration didn’t end there. Mommy brought out the cake with the candle on it and I got to blow after they sang Happy Birthday to me. It was indeed a great day and I want to thank mommy for making it special for me.

A Date With Mommy

Mommy said “We haven’t heard mass yet today.” last Sunday. I replied that I don’t want to go to mass so she enticingly said that we could go to Megamall to hear mass there. I immediately agreed and asked if she could buy me a toy, which she willingly said yes to.

Our first stop was Toy Kingdom. She brought me to the robots section. I kept on asking for dinosaur toys lately so she bought me a Zoids wolf model this time. Then we proceed to the 5th floor to hear mass. There was this small girl who kept on staring at my Zoids and trying to touch it as I display it. Next stop was Cyberzone where Mommy bought a cellphone crystal case. I told her I was hungry already so we went to KFC next. She allowed me to play for more than an hour there. I also had the urge to poop (which I can proudly say that I was able to hold for a couple of minutes as Mommy asked for extra tissues). Sorry if it’s TMI. :p

Then as we walked towards our car to go home, mommy asked if I was happy and I said yes because I was with her. I hope we have our second date soon.

The Weekend That Was #4

Mom and lola went to the airport late Saturday night to pick up my lola's sister, Tita Neneng and her kids, Maggie and Edward who are arriving from the UK. I saw them the morning after and they gave me chocolates as pasalubong.

Sunday was also Cedrick's birthday party so we headed to Market!Market! after hearing mass. We parted ways with lola when we arrived there so they can go shopping and have lunch while we attend the party. Mom first stopped at The Gift Factory to buy a gift for the celebrant. We got him a Spider-man pillow since we heard he loves Spider-man. Of course, I asked mom to buy something for me too. I first wanted a dog stuffed toy but mom suggested a dolphin puppet instead so we got it. After going out of the store and thinking about how I really liked the dog, I cried to convince mom to exchange the dolphin for the dog. Mom finally gave in and got me the dog which I named Brandy.

We proceeded to McDo for the party afterwards. There were only a few people and it hasn't started yet so I thought of warming up and dancing on the dance floor. Cedrick, wearing a Spider-man costume, joined me and imitated my dance. I even slipped at one point and he still mimicked it thinking it was part of the dance step. =D The party finally started and Tita Jhoy also arrived shortly. I joined in the The Boat is Sinking and Bring Me games. We were served our chicken, spaghetti, softdrinks and sundae meal after the games. I then felt tired after eating so I suggested to mom that we go home already. We said our goodbyes and proceeded to meet lola, Tita Neneng, Maggie and Edward. We also stopped shortly at Megamall since Tita Neneng needed to purchase a plane ticket to Davao.

It was really a great weekend and here's hoping I'll have a blast again on the next.

First Playdate

I was hearing lola talking to mommy that we're invited by Tita Ging to come over their place. Yaya said it was Zach's birthday but mom recalled that his birthday was in April. After breakfast and bath, we headed to their house and so began my very first playdate. Zach was quiet at first but after some warming up, he talked a little. Tita Ging said she invited us so her son would be more sociable. He doesn't get to play with kids his age and his mom talks to him mostly in english so he isn't that talkative. We enjoyed playing with his battery operated train set, alphabet magnets, bowling set, legos, huge inflatable punching bag (which we later punctured and inflated) and toy cars. Same toy cars were source of our quarrel after an hour coz he wouldn't share so mommy decided that it was time for us to go home. It was fun nevertheless and I'm looking forward to playing with him again.

The Weekend That Was #3

Good thing I've blackmailed convinced my secretary to chronicle my eventful weekend even if she felt lazy doing it so here goes...

On Saturday, mommy showed me Tita Jhoy's Pikachu stuffed toy gift and I played with him and Kermit the whole morning. Mommy then informed me that she'll be bringing me to Janea's birthday party so after bathing at 11 am, I was asking her to change me into my outside clothes. She said it was still early and sleep got the better of me so I was snoozing in 5 minutes. I just woke up when she carried me to go downstairs. We prepared to leave and after going through the traffic, we finally arrived at the venue. The party has started already and the meal was served after a few minutes. I heartily ate my chicken and spag coz I haven't had lunch yet. During the meal, a video of the Pussycat Dolls was being shown so I was drooling and eating at the same time. The next video shown was High School Musical so I sang and danced to it. I also danced when Susie the mascot took the spotlight but I was upstaged by another girl who knew the dance step to the Wowowee song. I really enjoyed the party and I greeted Janea a happy birthday and kissed her on the cheek when the party finished and it was time to go home.

We heard mass on Sunday morning then proceeded to Market!Market! to celebrate Father's Day. We ate at Chowking where I enjoyed the ramen and naicha. Then mommy suggested that I try the playground again. I was quite reluctant at first but she told me to just refrain from going to the area where I fell. She was also always near me to assure that no accidents would happen again. There were small fountains of water to play with and when I soaked my head, KJ mommy finally said it was time to go. We went back inside and I napped after changing into my dry clothes. I heard they bought lolo polo shirts as gifts. And when I woke up, we're already in the car en route home. Really enjoyed my wonderful weekend; hope you did too.

Shrek Weekend

Mom went away for their team's outing but surprised me with her pasalubong, a Shrek(including other Disney films) DVD and a Donkey talking toy from the same film. She watched the movies with me although she dozed off on the later part of Shrek 2. After hearing mass the next day, we went to Megamall as suggested by lola (coz it's too hot to stay at home!). Mommy proposed that we watch Shrek the Third. I enjoyed the film but got bored afterwards so I decided to explore the aisle. We had lunch at McDo after the movie and mom bought me 3 more toys, Puss in Boots, Fiona and Dronkey. Then I went to the Shrek booth where they had free glitter tattoo and free use of hop balls and gave away Shrek hats. I slept on the way home in the car. Really enjoyed the weekend that was.

Zoobic Birthday

My secretary's been busy at work again, hence the late post. Luckily, the secretary (aka as mom) was able to book us for the Zoobic Safari overnight package for 990 bucks per pax and I get the accomodation for free (but had to pay 295 for the park entrance).

We finally arrived at Zoobic (after some wrong turns) at around 9 in the morning. The guide instructed us first about what we'll see in the park. The tour finally began after a couple of minutes. First part was done on foot. We saw lots of animals and I get to pat a group of kids ("dot" as Isaac calls them), ride on an albino carabao, touch the cold skin of a boa constrictor and stroke a camel's hair. I wouldn't forget the camels as one of them nudged mommy's head as she was having her picture taken with them.

Next stop was the close encounter with the Siberian tigers. We bought a dressed chicken to feed the tigers. They were not as excited as I thought they'd be but I was able to watch them eat the chicken up close (probably a foot away). One also jumped on top of the jeep we were riding since the guide placed some chicken there. I wasn't scared of them, I think they're actually cute and cuddly.

Last part of the tour was the Savannah where there were ostriches, pot-bellied pigs and other animals roaming the ground freely. We also went to Croc Island where there were lots of crocodiles crawling on the ground only separated from our feet by the screened steps we were walking on.

We checked in our room at the Tiara, Crown Peak hotel. I was too excited to take my afternoon nap so mommy, lola and I went for a swim on the hotel's pool. We went back to our room by 5 pm and had dinner shortly. Then lola suggested we go out to see the other sites in Subic. We ended up on the Go-Kart track and my TH lola tried it. She was the slowest among the drivers but it's still fun for her. It was lights out for us after.

We spent the next morning eating halo-halo at the next door food stop and swimming again. We checked out at 12 pm and headed straight home since our car's included in the color coding on Mondays. All in all, I enjoyed the trip so much and I'm looking forward for my next birthday gimik.

Kiddie Meeting

I got to meet my PEx friends again last Saturday. Mommy was in a hurry that she didn't bathe me since she said we were running late. I was still sleeping a few minutes before we departed for the EB so yaya just hauled me up and changed my clothes in the car. We were the first to arrive though and I wished I had my bath since I'm meeting Aizel that day. Tita Faye, together with Rakesh and Kareena arrived shortly. We stayed in the corridor waiting for the others to arrive. I was entertained watching the bump cars. Too bad I couldn't ride it since it required kids to be 42" tall to ride. Tita Len and Aizel finally arrived and we decided to eat at Teriyaki Boy. I didn't ate much during breakfast so I had a good appetite for the tempura, katsudon and chicken teriyaki don mommy ordered. Some mommies were praising me coz I ate lots. I even attempted to use the chopsticks the way mommy was doing it. The other mommies that arrived during lunch were Tita Pau with Janea and Tita Dhine with Andrew. After the sumptuous lunch, we headed to Active Fun and I was able to play there for an hour. I first tried the balls play area where I threw the plastic balls and jumped on them. I was able to try the giant slide for 5 times, I think. Mommy was more nervous than me when I tried it the first time. And on my last try, I flipped so I was sliding on my belly. But it was nothing and I jumped out of the slide unscathed. Tita Moon with Franco also arrived as I was playing. Before I knew it, one hour was up and they had to look for me to bring me to mommy who was waiting outside the play area. We then said our goodbyes with me kissing most of my titas there. And of course I get to kiss Aizel on the cheek and she hugged me back. It was really a fun meeting and I'm looking forward to more EBs with them.

Museong Pambata

I thought it was just going to be a typical weekend until mommy announced that we're going to Museong Pambata. Lola first suggested Manila Zoo but we discarded it since we've all been there. We arrived a little past 1 pm and the place was not yet opened so we played in the playground while waiting. There was an old chopper there and mommy was busy taking shots at me while I sat on the pilot's seat and tested the controls. Come 1:30, the museum opened so we proceeded to the first room which was natured theme. There were different aquariums there and the room beside it was a makeshift-sewer where there were garbage. The next room had a fountain in it and a tree house. The other sections were Old Manila, The Human Body, Sports and Science section. But I mostly enjoyed in the miniature room where there was a sari-sari store, pharmacy, meat shop, fruit shop, bakery, barber shop and bahay kubo. I enjoyed playing bahay-bahayan (going to the market with my basket, cooking lunch and eating) in the bahay-kubo. Time flew and next thing I knew the museum was closing. We went to Shrine of Jesus to hear mass afterwards. It really was a fun-filled weekend for me.

Kids @ Work

I was surprised to wake up in a taxi last Monday morning. Didn't know that mommy was bringing me to the office along with Ate Rein and yaya. We arrived there early so I spent time playing with mommy's Buttercups and cute magnets. Come 9 am, we were ushered to a room where there were coloring books available and Shrek was showing. Then we also went to the balloon twisting booth and glitter tattoo booth where I got the blue dolphin on my arm. During lunch, I was at first complaining that we should've eaten at Jollibee but stopped after I got to taste the McChicken. After the break, there was a puppet show and I was amused by the Sesame Street, Toy Story and Lion King shows. We also got to play some party games (where Ate Rein won one game) before Jollibee finally arrived and danced for us. To cap off the day, Sta. Claus visited and gave us toys. It was really a fun day at mom's office. Looking forward to this activity next year.

Girl in Pink

I just sat there dumbfounded when she entered the room wearing a tube dress. In a few minutes, I was able to go near her and play with her. Too bad since her mom had to change her to a more conservative (warmer) pink sleeveless dress but I think she still looked pretty in it. Mommy asked me to kiss the girls in the party so I kissed Annika on the cheek, Nikki on the nose but Aizel on the lips. I was on cloud 9 then. Oh, when will I see her again?

Trick or Treat

We went trick or treating last Sunday at SM Megamall. We would've gone to Robinson's Galleria but we're not able to make it to the pre-registration. I came as Superman, Ate Rein as Darna and Ate Mai as Hermione. People commented how cute we are. One group had mistaken Ate Rein's costume as Wonderwoman but mommy smilingly corrected them. We went from store to store hauling candies and Clinica Manila also offered face painting. I had stars painted on my hands and Superman's S on my cheek. Really had a great time. Maybe next year I could ask mom to buy me Capt. Barbell's costume. ;D

The Weekend That Was #1

How was your weekend? Mine was fun. Lolo drived mommy and me to mommy's office for our flu shot. I was bored the minute we sat on the waiting room, err corridor so I kept saying "Ayaw ko dito." and started crying. The other parents there were laughing at me since I'd just arrived and I was already feeling that way. Good thing they started showing Ice Age 2 and I was somewhat entertained. When it was time to get my temperature, I started crying again. Mommy soothed me by bringing me next to the big windows and car-seeing that I didn't mind it when she inserted the thermometer under my armpit. The moment of truth finally came and I was crying again. I know that it's for my own good though so I stopped after getting a lot of mom's hugs and kisses.

On Sunday, we went to the Pasig Zoo at Rainforest. It was my second time there but I still enjoyed all the animals. I was still entertained by the monkeys who would've touched my hand if I'd gotten it closer. We also went to the children's playground and I enjoyed going through the slides and tunnel with Ate Mai and Ate Rein. Hope my next weekend will be as fun-filled as this.

Mommy's Birthday

It was mommy's birthday last Saturday so I made sure my smiling face was the first thing she saw that morning. It was effective coz when she opened her eyes, she smiled at me and kissed me. Then, she went on to pack our things because we're to go swimming at Rainforest. It was a blast since I get to swim on the kiddie pool and try the slides. I was glad mom let me explore the pool with her just two steps behind. We also went to the adult pool where mom was sure to hold me. I wanted to tell her I could go it alone but she still held me close. After swimming, we proceeded to the zoo. I was especially amused by the monkey who devoured the banana given to him. He was even licking his hands when the fruit was all gone. I was so tired after the outing though that I went straight to bed. Again, happy birthday mommy! I had a great day, hope you enjoyed too. Lab u!

Davao Adventure

I know this is late but as they say, better late than never. Mommy and I (together with Tita Jhoy and her mom, Tita Oreng) embarked on our much-awaited Davao trip last July 22-26. We arrived 3 hours earlier before our flight coz mom and Tita Jhoy still had to get our e-ticket converted. We're still too early though so I just spent the time snacking on Mom and napping. The flight was uneventful except for when Mom went to the washroom and I cried my lungs out coz I thought she left without saying goodbye. Oh I almost forgot, my lip also bled while I was playing with the collapsable table in front of me. The steward was kind enough to give us ice but I preferred mommy's breast to comfort me.

A jeepney was waiting for us when we arrived at Davao. (I was uncomfortable at first, coz I haven't ridden in one my whole 2 years and 3 months of existence, so I cried but got used to the vehicle eventually). We went straight to Lola Fanny's house for lunch. After that, we went to the Philippine Eagle Center where I saw a lot of well, eagles of course (named Pagasa, Pagkakaisa, Marikit, etc.), other birds, monkeys and deers. The monkeys were especially cute, feeding on each other's lice and playing. We had dinner at Jack's Ridge and the view of the city lights was great. We also visited Lolo Centes' grave before retiring for the day.

Eden Nature park was on our itinerary for Day 2. We stopped by the San Pedro Cathedral first though to hear mass. Mommy bought me an inflatable whale which I later used at the beach. It was fun going around the park where I saw more animals and get to play on their playground. I would've loved swimming there but mom wouldn't allow me coz I just had the fever the day before.

We went to Paradise Island the next day. Mom and Tita Jhoy were planning on going to Pearl Farm but the overnight accomodation was a whopping 3750 bucks. It was ok too since we had an in-land tour and went to a bat cave, Hagimit falls and the old Moncado house. Too bad, I missed the bat cave since I was napping that time but I heard them talking about the bat's population reaching a huge 2.5 million. I would've enjoyed it better if mom allowed me to swim near the falls. Our guide said the water's deep though on that part. But I did enjoy swimming on the beach anyway with mommy and lola and playing on the white sand. We were planning to stay for another day on the island but decided to leave since there was no speed boat available for island hopping. I enjoyed playing my own game of billiards though while mom beats Tita Jhoy on their 8-ball game.

We rested a while after having lunch at home then headed off to Gap farm. I was amused by the ceramic figures of animals, presidents and heroes of the Philippines, minorities, and even creatures of the dark. We also entered a tunnel used during the second world war. But the best part was my horseback riding experience.

And for our last day, we went to the Crocodile Park. I was introduced to Pangil, the largest crocodile in the Philippines with a length of 18 feet. I also get to touch an albino snake and pose with those cute birds. There were also eels available for petting but they were so slippery that mom couldn't hold even one of them still for me to touch. Mom bought t-shirts as souvenirs and even bought me another sword, which I think is broken to pieces now.

It was raining on the afternoon of our departure that we experienced turbulence and the seatbelt sign was mostly on during the flight. I just slept through it though and the next thing I knew, we're back in Manila. I'm looking forward for our next trip next year which mom said would be in Panglao. =)
